Dvořák’s Gypsy Songs (Cigánské melodie, Op. 55)

Antonín Dvořák’s Gypsy Songs (Cigánské melodie, Op. 55, 1880) set seven poems by Adolf Heyduk for voice and piano. Rich with folk-inspired colour and emotional depth, the songs capture themes of love, longing, and freedom. The most famous, Songs My Mother Taught Me, remains one of Dvořák’s most beloved works.
